What are Internet Enabled Vizio HDTVs?

An Internet-enabled HDTV is a TV that comes bundled with applications, or “apps”, designed to connect directly to the Internet and display content such as YouTube videos, weather reports, news, sports scores, and streaming movies/television shows. The typical app bundle for a Vizio TV includes Pandora, Yahoo Video, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Amazon Video on Demand. There is no charge for basic Internet functionality, but some services, like Netflix and Amazon Video On Demand, have content charges.
These sets differ from televisions that double as computer monitors because no computer or outside equipment is required to display the internet-based content. The TV IS the computer with a streamlined, focused interface. Just like computers and cellphones, the software on an Internet Enabled HDTV can be updated. With each update, you will receive bug fixes, new features and new apps.
